How to convert PLN to ZAR
There is only one number you need to convert PLN to ZAR: the rate the market is quoting. On 18 August 2026 that rate is 4.354, so:
ZAR = PLN × 4.354
Going the other way, divide instead of multiply — or multiply by 0.229672, which amounts to the same thing: one South African Rand buys 0.229672 Polish Zloty.
The converter at the top of this page does both directions and updates as you type. Every result is recalculated on the server as well, so the number you see is the number that gets stored.
About the Polish Zloty and the South African Rand
The Polish Zloty (PLN, symbol zł) is the currency of Poland. The South African Rand (ZAR, symbol R) is the currency of South Africa.
Rates between these two shift with interest-rate decisions, trade figures and general market mood. The feed publishes mid-market figures, which is what financial reporting cites. Actual exchange costs a margin on top.

A price tag. Something marked zł50 comes to 217.7 ZAR. Round to 218 ZAR for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. zł3,000 a month is 13062.08 ZAR — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
Going the other way. If you are holding R1,000 and want to know what it buys in Polish Zloty, that is 229.67 PLN. The converter handles both directions — use the swap button between the two fields.
Watch the margin. At a bureau charging 3%, your zł500 would fetch roughly 2111.7 ZAR instead of 2177.01 ZAR. That gap is what the mid-market rate on this page lets you spot.

Almost certainly not. What you see here is the mid-market rate, the midpoint of the market. Every retail provider takes a cut on top of it. The value of knowing the mid-market figure is being able to measure that cut.
