How to convert NOK to JPY
Converting NOK into JPY takes a single multiplication once you know the day's rate. On 18 August 2026 that rate is 16.909, so:
JPY = NOK × 16.909
Reverse the direction and you divide rather than multiply. Equivalently, one Japanese Yen is worth 0.05914 Norwegian Kroner.
The converter at the top of this page does both directions and updates as you type. Every result is recalculated on the server as well, so the number you see is the number that gets stored.
About the Norwegian Krone and the Japanese Yen
The Norwegian Krone (NOK, symbol kr) is the currency of Norway. The Japanese Yen (JPY, symbol ¥) is the currency of Japan.
Like any pair, the rate reflects what traders will pay at that moment, not a fixed value. What you see is the market midpoint, updated once a day. A bank or bureau will quote something a little worse.

A price tag. Something marked kr50 comes to 845.45 JPY. Round to 845 JPY for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. kr3,000 a month is 50726.95 JPY — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
Going the other way. If you are holding ¥1,000 and want to know what it buys in Norwegian Kroner, that is 59.1402 NOK. The converter handles both directions — use the swap button between the two fields.
Watch the margin. At a bureau charging 3%, your kr500 would fetch roughly 8200.86 JPY instead of 8454.49 JPY. That gap is what the mid-market rate on this page lets you spot.

No. This is the mid-market reference rate — the midpoint between what buyers and sellers are quoting. Banks, card issuers and bureaus add a margin, so expect somewhat less than shown. Use it as a benchmark to judge whether an offer is fair.
