How to convert GBP to NOK
There is only one number you need to convert GBP to NOK: the rate the market is quoting. On 18 August 2026 that rate is 12.7678, so:
NOK = GBP × 12.7678
Reverse the direction and you divide rather than multiply. Equivalently, one Norwegian Krone is worth 0.078322 British Pounds.
The converter at the top of this page does both directions and updates as you type. Every result is recalculated on the server as well, so the number you see is the number that gets stored.
About the British Pound and the Norwegian Krone
The British Pound (GBP, symbol £) is the currency of the United Kingdom. The Norwegian Krone (NOK, symbol kr) is the currency of Norway.
Neither currency is pegged to the other, so the figure drifts from one session to the next. The figures here are mid-market reference rates from a public daily feed: the rate quoted in the news, not the rate a retail exchange hands you over the counter.
Worked GBP to NOK examples
A price tag. Something marked £50 comes to 638.39 NOK. Round to 638 NOK for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. £3,000 a month is 38303.49 NOK — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
Going the other way. If you are holding kr1,000 and want to know what it buys in British Pounds, that is 78.3218 GBP. The converter handles both directions — use the swap button between the two fields.
Watch the margin. At a bureau charging 3%, your £500 would fetch roughly 6192.4 NOK instead of 6383.91 NOK. That gap is what the mid-market rate on this page lets you spot.
As of 18 August 2026, 12.7678 Norwegian Kroner buys what one British Pound does. That figure is pulled from a public reference feed once a day.
At today's rate, 100 British Pounds come to 1276.783 NOK. The converter handles any amount, in either direction.
No — treat it as the reference point, not the offer. Exchange desks quote a spread around the mid-market rate and keep the difference. Comparing their quote with the figure above tells you what the convenience is costing you.
