How to convert EUR to ZAR
The maths behind a EUR to ZAR conversion is one multiplication, no rounding tricks. On 18 August 2026 that rate is 18.7627, so:
ZAR = EUR × 18.7627
Reverse the direction and you divide rather than multiply. Equivalently, one South African Rand is worth 0.053297 Euros.
The converter at the top of this page does both directions and updates as you type. Every result is recalculated on the server as well, so the number you see is the number that gets stored.
About the Euro and the South African Rand
The Euro (EUR, symbol €) is the currency of the eurozone. The South African Rand (ZAR, symbol R) is the currency of South Africa.
The two are quoted against each other constantly, so the rate moves throughout the trading day. The feed publishes mid-market figures, which is what financial reporting cites. Actual exchange costs a margin on top.
Worked EUR to ZAR examples
A price tag. Something marked €50 comes to 938.13 ZAR. Round to 938 ZAR for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. €3,000 a month is 56288 ZAR — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
Going the other way. If you are holding R1,000 and want to know what it buys in Euros, that is 53.2973 EUR. The converter handles both directions — use the swap button between the two fields.
Watch the margin. At a bureau charging 3%, your €500 would fetch roughly 9099.89 ZAR instead of 9381.33 ZAR. That gap is what the mid-market rate on this page lets you spot.
The EUR/ZAR rate stands at 18.7627 on 18 August 2026. It is refreshed every morning, so this page never quotes a figure older than a day.
At today's rate, 100 Euros come to 1876.2666 ZAR. The converter handles any amount, in either direction.
No. This is the mid-market reference rate — the midpoint between what buyers and sellers are quoting. Banks, card issuers and bureaus add a margin, so expect somewhat less than shown. Use it as a benchmark to judge whether an offer is fair.
