How to convert BRL to GBP
There is only one number you need to convert BRL to GBP: the rate the market is quoting. On 18 August 2026 that rate is 0.141622, so:
GBP = BRL × 0.141622
Backwards works identically — divide by 0.141622, or multiply by 7.0611. One British Pound comes to 7.0611 Brazilian Reais.
The converter at the top of this page does both directions and updates as you type. Every result is recalculated on the server as well, so the number you see is the number that gets stored.
About the Brazilian Real and the British Pound
The Brazilian Real (BRL, symbol R$) is the currency of Brazil. The British Pound (GBP, symbol £) is the currency of the United Kingdom.
Rates between these two shift with interest-rate decisions, trade figures and general market mood. The figures here are mid-market reference rates from a public daily feed: the rate quoted in the news, not the rate a retail exchange hands you over the counter.

A price tag. Something marked R$50 comes to 7.0811 GBP. Round to 7 GBP for a quick mental check while you are standing in the shop.
A monthly salary. R$3,000 a month is 424.87 GBP — useful when you are comparing a job offer across the two markets. Bear in mind the rate moves, so a figure agreed today will not be the figure paid out in six months.
Going the other way. If you are holding £1,000 and want to know what it buys in Brazilian Reais, that is 7061.07 BRL. The converter handles both directions — use the swap button between the two fields.
Watch the margin. At a bureau charging 3%, your R$500 would fetch roughly 68.6865 GBP instead of 70.8108 GBP. That gap is what the mid-market rate on this page lets you spot.
As of 18 August 2026, 0.141622 British Pounds buys what one Brazilian Real does. That figure is pulled from a public reference feed once a day.

Almost certainly not. What you see here is the mid-market rate, the midpoint of the market. Every retail provider takes a cut on top of it. The value of knowing the mid-market figure is being able to measure that cut.
